Spring Choral Concert May 21st
Pittsburgh Business Times’ “2013 Guide to Western Pennsylvania Schools,” labeled our students as“overachievers” and ranked their academic performance as second in the State and first in Western Pennsylvania. Our parade of PBT “Overachiever” recognitions goes back several years, placing our students consistently #1, 2, or 3 among the 500 public school districts in the State and the 100 districts in seven counties of Western Pennsylvania.
The PBT ranking begins with student performance in Mathematics and Reading on the PSSA [Pennsylvania School System Assessment] and is then related to the percentage of “economically disadvantaged” families within the district. PBT describes “overachiever” as: “A district finishing high on this rank [overachiever] is smashing expectations. . . .”
